Don the
headset and be guided through the ‘romantic’ streets of Edinburgh to Michael’s
wedding salon. Once there, have a glass of Buck’s fizz and start to think about
what your perfect day might entail.
Michael
is the perfect wedding planner: passsionate, knowledgeable and more than a
touch tyrannical. He and his put-upon assistant Gwendolen talk through dress
styles, fabric choices and venue considerations, mercilessly
parodying the horrendous conventions of the wedding industry. It’s deliciously
bitchy and just interactive enough to keep everyone involved, without making
anyone squirm.
The show
ends somewhat anticlimactically, but My Dream Wedding is a
great deal of fun nonetheless. This is clever, lighthearted interactive theatre that will
brighten your afternoon.
