Following last month’s launch of the Whatsonstage.com Ticket Exchange, a dedicated theatre ticket resale service powered by Viagogo (See News, 16 Dec 2008), we’ve now added a group booking service to the UK’s most popular theatre website.
Attending the theatre in a group is often the most cost-effective way to see a show – with savings of up to 50 percent on individual ticket prices – and putting together a large enough group may not be as difficult as you think. For some shows, group rates kick in for parties as few as eight people.
On each show listings page on Whatsonstage.com – initially limited to West End listings only – visitors can now make a group booking enquiry. Just click on the Group Booking Enquiry bar and a simple form will appear. Fill in and submit the form and one of our consultants will call you straight back.
Commenting on the new service, Whatsosntage.com managing director David Dobson said: “Whatsonstage.com has promoted brilliant ticket offers for years, but this is the first time we have offered group booking other than for our own events. It’s just another way we aim to help theatregoers beat the credit crunch by making their pounds go furthest at the box office.”
Whatsonstage.com has also been hard at work improving other aspects of the site. A video feature is now also incorporated into listings. Where we have a relevant video, it automatically appears on the show page, enabling you to get a glimpse of what’s on offer before you buy a ticket.
All of these features can also be reached via the website’s new dedicated ticketing section – tickets.whatsonstage.com – as well as through listings database searches. “If all you want is a ticket then this site has all of the best offers and deals in one place,” said Dobson.
