With just over two weeks until the start of this year’s Edinburgh Fringe Festival (6 August 2010), Whatsonstage.com launches its Edinburgh 2010 site, featuring all the best news, features and opinion from the festival frontline.

This year’s Edinburgh site is more interactive than ever before, with our new press release engine, a YouTube-style video section and blogs from over ten participants in this year’s Fringe. And, as ever with Whatsonstage.com, all content can be commented on and further opinions given on our lively discussion board.

We’re also currently offering the chance to win tickets to the Chinese State Circus, simply by signing up for our Edinburgh mailing list.

Among the big names going to Edinburgh this year are Oscar-winning actress Emma Thompson, who’s producing a show about sex trafficking, glamour model-turned-actress Abi Titmuss, starring in an anniversary revival of John Godber’s Up ‘n’ Under and Clarke Peters, who leads the cast in a new production of his Olivier Award-winning musical Five Guys Named Moe (look out for our Edinburgh picks story later this week).

The Edinburgh International Festival (EIF) meanwhile, which runs from
13 August to 5 September 2010, this year focuses on an eclectic range of work from North, Central and
South America and Australasia.

The statistics are, as ever, mind-boggling. In total, this year’s Fringe programme features a 2,453 shows, a 17 percent
increase on last year, with more than half a million people expected to attend.

Bookmark www.whatsonstage.com/edinburgh to ensure you don’t miss any of the action. If you’re on Twitter, use our tag #wosed to be featured on the Edinburgh site. Videos can be uploaded to video.whatsonstage.com, and for our dedicated press release engine, click here.
