Mike Tyson announced this week that he’s bringing his one-man play to Broadway – and it could be set to hit (in all senses of the word) the West End. The controversial former heavyweight boxer has teamed up with director Spike Lee to bring Mike Tyson: Undisputed Truth to the Longacre Theatre in New York for six nights this summer.

The show features raw confessions of both the highs and lows of Tyson’s dramatic life including his boxing days, his time spent behind bars, the accidental death of his daughter and the time his ex-wife returned home in his car with Brad Pitt. “It takes courage to get in the ring,” said Lee, who asks audiences to keep an open mind when it comes to his play. “But it takes courage to get on the stage.”

Mike Tyson: Undisputed Truth debuted in Las Vegas with a week-long run in April. At the show’s premiere Randy Johnson, who helped co-write the book along with Tyson’s third wife Kiki, discussed his hopes for the future of the show. “I am hoping to have a run on Broadway and the West End of London. I think we can play every legitimate theatre in the world.”
