Oscar winner Kevin Spacey and tennis world number one Rafael Nadal must surely rank as one of the most unlikely stage pairings, but it came to fruition at the recent Laureus Sport Awards, held in Abu Dhabi on Monday (7 February). Old Vic artistic director Spacey, who was hosting the event, took on award winner Nadal at “a game that demands the physical stamina of a boxer, the agility of a gymnast, the tactical acumen of a chess player” – ping pong.
