Famous west London venue Riverside Studios has been put up for sale, it has been announced.
Though the venue continues to present productions and house TV recordings, operator Riverside Trust entered administration last month citing a huge increase in energy costs following a major refurbishment.
The venue housed the UK premiere of Disney’s Winnie the Pooh musical, as well as hit show Operation Mincemeat ahead of its West End transfer.
Located next to the Thames in Hammersmith, it has also been used to film some major TV series including Have I Got News for You and Doctor Who.
Future productions include a play written by AI and a show featuring live presentations of Tarantino classic moments.
A spokesperson for Savills, who are overeeing the sale, said: “With the scarcity of this type of opportunity and the incredibly high barriers of entry, we expect there will be significant and diverse demand in the market place from both potential occupiers and investors.”
