Redgrave, Miller & Arterton Celebrated at Portrait Gallery

A new display at the National Portrait Gallery, The Actress Now, will see newly acquired photographs of Vanessa Redgrave, Sienna Miller, Rosamund Pike, Gemma Arterton and Joanna Lumley go on show for the first time alongside other works of drawn from the Gallery’s Collection.

The exhibition, which opens on 20 October 2011, aims to “demonstrate the diversity and breadth of contemporary talent” working today, and includes long-standing stars such as Fiona Shaw and Harriet Walter alongside the likes of Gemma Arterton and Natalie Dormer.

The 39 works in the display vary from an oil painting of Helen Mirren by Ishbel Myerscough to a ceramic sculpture of Glenda Jackson by Glenys Barton. The new acquisitions by Sarah Dunn, Jillian Edelstein, Francesco Guidicini, Elisabeth Hoff and Chris Floyd.
