War Horse
author Michael Morpurgo took to the stage yesterday (16 August) after a performance of the show, alongside his equine puppet
creation, Joey.
Morpurgo fielded questions from the hundreds of under-16s gathered
at the New London Theatre, as part of the Society of London Theatres’ Kids Week
event, which aims to involve more young people in theatregoing.
A lucky few audiece members went onstage to get a
closer look at the amazing horse puppet which has captured the
imaginations of West End audiences.
The Kids Week scheme provides free and discounted tickets for children; 39 shows have signed up alongside War Horse this year, including Billy Elliot The Musical, Chariots Of Fire, Chicago, Wicked, Sweeney Todd and The Lion King. The scheme runs throughout August.
