David Suchet made a visit to Kensington Gardens to meet the cast of The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe in Kensington Gardens two days ago (12 August).
Suchet recorded the voice for the part of Aslan, represented onstage by a giant puppet, and was heard to say “It’s the strangest experience for me to pick up a ticket at the box office and watch myself perform, even though it may be a lion! I was very thrilled to be part of a wonderful show, it was truly magical.”
Suchet is currently performing in A Long Day’s Journey Into Night, which closes this Saturday (18 August).
The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe, whose cast includes Sally Dexter, Forbes Mason and Brian Protheroe, also features Carly Bawden as Susan Pevensie, who attended David Suchet’s old school and received a Drama Prize set up by David to encourage students in acting.
