It looks like Peter Pan won’t be returning to Neverland for too long after the current run of JM Barrie’s classic play, in a specially constructed tent in Kensington Gardens, closes on 30 August.
“We’re very keen to find locations with a great environment – another nice park or a beautiful area with a view of the sea or a lake.”
There are certainly no shortage of location options in London, and there should be plenty of interest following the success of the current Kensington Gardens run (See Our Review Round-up, 12 Jun 2009).
Peter Pan is directed by former Almeida associate director and site-specific specialist Ben Harrison and features a cast led by Ciaran Kellgren and Abby Ford as Peter and Wendy, Jonathan Hyde as Captain Hook and Spaniard Itxaso Moreno as Tinkerbell. It’s been running in Kensington Gardens, where JM Barrie first met the Llewelyn Davies children who inspired him to write the story, since 10 June 2009 (previews from 26 May).
