A new play from Sheffield-born writer Chris Leicester opens at the Forum Studio Theatre in Chester this week.

“Slasher” Kincade is also being directed by Leicester and has Kevin Brannagan, Chris Carney, and Gray Hughes amongst the cast.

Leicester said: “My work usually premieres in London and we run for a month there before returning to Liverpool, but I wanted to add my support to the efforts being made to bolster Chester’s arts profile by opening my new play there.”

The central story to “Slasher” Kincade is about the build-up to a big speech at a business trade convention and it deals with issues of corporate downsizing.

The new comedy is being presented by Too Write Productions and opens at the Forum Studio Theatre, formerly the Chester Gateway, on Thursday 15 April and runs until Saturday 17 April.

Following a visit to Chester, the production transfers to The Courtyard Theatre in Hoxton, London, from 27 April until 23 May. “Slasher” Kincade then returns to the region, at the Unity Theatre in Liverpool, for three nights from 1 July.
