Chilean playwright Ariel Dorfman’s Olivier Award-winning thriller Death and the Maiden is revived at the newly renamed Harold Pinter Theatre, starring Thandie Newton, Tom Goodman-Hill and Anthony Calf

Mike Bartlett’s new play 13 gets its world premiere at the NT Olivier. Directed by Thea Sharrock, it continues in rep until 8 January 2012.

Shalom Baby
(PREVIEWS FROM 20 OCTOBER)


Rikki Beadle-Blair‘s new play, exploring the relationship between a Jewish woman and a black man in 1930s Berlin, premieres at Theatre Royal, Stratford East, where it continues to 19 November.

Earthquakes in London


Mike Bartlett‘s “epic rollercoaster” of a play, going from 1968 to 2525 and back again, arrives for five nights at Richmond Theatre as part of a national tour.

The Last of the Duchess, based on Caroline Blackwood’s book of the same name about Wallis Simpson, premieres at Hampstead Theatre, starring Sheila Hancock and Anna Chancellor. Until 26 November 2011.

Pamela Carter’s Skåne, centring on an adulterous couple on the run in southern Sweden, continues the Hampstead Downstairs season of new work. Until 26 November.

Speechless
(PREVIEWS FROM 26 OCTOBER)

Following its Fringe First winning premiere at Edinburgh last year, Shared Experience’s Speechless, based on the true story of identical twins June and Jennifer Gibbons, comes to the Arcola on its first national tour. Until 19 November.

Roadkill

Cora Bissett’s site-specific Roadkill, based on the experiences of young women trafficked to Scotland, comes to Theatre Royal Stratford East until 20 November.
