Baggage, a new play exploring the world of internet dating by John Muirhead and Mike Charlesworth, will premiere at the Arts Theatre from 6 September to 6 October 2012.

Directed by Audrey Cooke, the production is billed as “a collaboration by two old college friends about two old college friends who are reunited and struggle with the online dating world”.

Baggage tells the story of close friends, reunited through tragedy, who hope to repair their damaged relationship before it’s too late. According to press material, “The content draws to some extent on personal experience, but is largely the result of considerable research with people who have used the dating sites and offered up stories, many of which are unprintable and implausible.”

Audrey Cooke’s previous West End directing credits include An Evening with Gary Lineker and Arthur Smith’s Live Bed Show.

Baggage marks John Muirhead and Mike Charlesworth’s writing debut. Casting will be announced soon.
