Sinead Cusack will lead the cast in a revival of Sean O’Casey’s Juno And The Paycock at the National Theatre later this year, according to the Daily Mail. Cusack is apparently in line to play the title role in Howard Davies‘ revival, which will open in “mid-summer” following Davies’ production of The Cherry Orchard starring Zoe Wanamaker, dates for which are still to be confirmed. Set in the 1920s during the Irish Civil War, Juno And The Paycock centres on the Boyle family, who live in the Dublin tenements. A tragic but blackly comic tale, it continues to be one of the most popular and oft-performed Irish plays.
