Mousetraps: which is London’s sexiest cast?

London has gone mousetrap mad.

Exactly one week after the Olivier Awards ceremony featured an extended segment about

the world’s longest running play, the first “Mousetrap” awards were presented at the Old Vic Tunnels.

The awards – which included a gong for “Sexiest Cast” – were organised by Mousetrap Theatre Projects which exists to increase young people’s access to the best of live theatre in London. The winners were decided upon by votes from hundreds of young theatregoers between the ages of 15 and 23.

The ceremony on Sunday 22 April 2012 was compèred by director Eddie Latter and also featured performances from

various young people including south east London duo Misunderstood .

The winners

Most Welcoming Venue: Apollo Victoria. Collected by front-of-house managers Imogen Blauth-Muszkowski and Oscar Scllick-Pilley

Show I Would Most Recommend to a Friend: Wicked. Collected by Andy Bryant (Boq)

Best Score: Les Misérables. Collected by David Shannon (Jean Valjean), Craig Mather (Marius) and Rob Vickers (swing)

Outstanding Performance: Sheridan Smith for her role in Legally Blonde. Currently filming in Australia, she expressed her thanks by Twitter

Sexiest Cast: Chicago. Collected by Matt Wesley (swing)

Best Play : War Horse. Collected by Mervyn Millar, artistic director of Handspring Puppet Co UK

Show that Shouldn’t Have Closed: Spring Awakening. Collected by Lucy Mae Barker (Ilse)

Best Stage Design: The Lion King

Best Ensemble: Wicked. Collected by dance captains Hannah Toy and Sean Perkins

Best Musical: Les Misérables. Collected by David Shannon (Jean Valjean) and Craig Mather (Marius)
