The Gaiety Musical Theatre Festival, which was due to take place at the end of the month, has been cancelled.

The event, which was also postponed in 2022, had been set to take place at Ragley Hall in Warwickshire on Sunday 30 April 2023.

Set to appear was a variety of stars including Kerry Ellis (Anything Goes), Collabro (as part of one of their last performances), Lee Mead (Legally Blonde), Cassidy Janson (& Juliet), Marisha Wallace (Guys and Dolls), Lauren Samuels (Grease) and Sophie Evans (Wicked). A silent disco and independent boutique stalls had also been due to feature.

Producer Mike Wilson said in a statement: “We are devastated to let you know that we have made the difficult decision to cancel the inaugural Gaiety Musical Theatre Festival on April 30, 2023 at Ragley Hall due to unforeseen circumstances.

“We have exhausted all alternative avenues to try to ensure the festival goes ahead in some way, but sadly we have had to take the very hard decision to cancel the 2023 Gaiety Musical Theatre Festival.

“Ticket holders will receive a full refund for the price of their tickets.

“All of us at Gaiety Musical Theatre Festival are so disappointed and we thank everyone who has worked for months to make the festival happen.”
