Low Life & Hysteria Return to BAC in March

BAC will feature one-week last chance runs of two of their best remembered shows, Low Life (7 – 14 March) and Hysteria (16 – 21 March) as part of their Spring 2009 Season. Both shows return to BAC after acclaimed succes the first time around and following a recent British Council tour through China. 

Low Life combines a modified show presented by a new cast for its return to the BAC stage. Showcasing the talents of puppetry artists Blind Summit, the play is set in the Low Life Cabaret, a place where puppets and people cohabitate. Low Life is based on the poems and short stories of Charles Bukowski, which focus on the lives of working class Americans in the 1900s.

Presented by Inspector Sands, Hysteria brings to life a classic T.S. Eliot poem of the same name. The show follows a couple as they endure “the date from hell,” shedding a comedic light on the antics that ensue.

Both shows garnered international acclaim and were chosen as examples of the best contemporary theatre in the UK following their initial appearences at BAC as part of the Scratch programme. Along with members of the British Council, Blind Summit and Inspector Sands will share their experiences from China with invited audiences at scheduled discussions during their stay at BAC.
