Tired of having to sing pop songs when playing sing-a-long console games, when what you really want is a good, old fashioned musical theatre belt? Well worry no more, as some of Andrew Lloyd Webber‘s best-loved songs are making their way onto the Xbox 360 karaoke game Lips. Really Useful Group, Lloyd Webber’s international entertainment company, has struck a licensing agreement with Microsoft allowing fans to star in West End shows such as Cats and Phantom of the Opera in the comfort of their own living rooms. Available as add-ons to the existing game, Xbox owners will be able to buy packs containing musical theatre classics such as “Memory”, “Don’t Cry For Me Argentina” and “Love Changes Everything”. For the most dedicated of fans, Lips also boasts an online feature which enables users to duets over MSN’s Messenger service. A musical theatre add-on pack including karaoke game tracks of “Memory”, “All I Ask of You” and “Love Changes Everything” will be available from tomorrow, 13 August 2010, with a second containing “Don’t Cry For Me Argentina”, “The Phantom of the Opera” and “Any Dream Will Do” released on 10 September. Both will be available from the Xbox LIVE store.
