Last we heard of pop star Lily Allen on the theatrical front was that she was planning to tread the boards herself in Neil LaBute’s play Reasons to Be Pretty. Now, according to the Sun, she’ll make her theatrical entree in a much different manner: penning the score for the screen-to-stage musical adaptation of Bridget Jones, which is expected to premiere in the West End in 2011. The newspaper reports that Allen has been contracted to write a dozen new songs for the musical, though so far she’s only delivered one, which features a hungry Bridget rummaging in the fridge trying to decide what to eat.
