Exclusive: A semi-staged world premiere concert of Jo – The Little Women Musical will take place next year.

The event will feature Grammy nominee Christine Allado and two-time Tony Award winner Christine Ebersole, alongside Kelly Mathieson, Eleanor Grant, Sophie Pollono and Tobias Turley, with further names still to be announced.

Based on Louisa May Alcott’s classic novel, the new musical reimagines Little Women through the eyes of Jo March – a fiercely creative young writer whose grief and ambition shape one of literature’s most enduring coming-of-age stories. The concert will feature a 26-piece orchestra performing Dan Redfeld’s sweeping score, with book and lyrics by Christina Harding and John Gabriel Koladziej.

The production is directed and choreographed by JoAnn M Hunter, whose credits include School of Rock and Bad Cinderella. It follows the global release of the Jo studio album earlier this year, recorded at Abbey Road Studios and produced by five-time Grammy nominee and three-time Emmy winner Nigel Wright alongside Redfeld.

Redfeld said: “Following the amazing critical response to the Jo album, we are thrilled to finally bring this magical musical to life in London’s West End featuring many of the wonderful artists who worked on the album.”

Ahead of the concert, Mathieson and Turley will perform excerpts from the musical at this weekend’s Musical Con 2025 in London, with giveaways and competitions available at the show’s stand.

The concert will take place at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane on Sunday 25 January 2026.
