David Hare is set for a busy year in 2011, with a season dedicated to him a Sheffield Theatres and now reports of a new play premiering at Chichester. The play is called South Downs and has been written as a response to Terence Rattigan‘s The Browning Version. According to the Daily Mail, Chichester artistic director Jonathan Church wants to run the two plays concurrently next year, and is “considering a number of Rattigan’s works as part of the playwright’s centenary celebrations, and thinking of responses to them”.
