Lucy Prebble‘s multi-award winning play Enron, chronicling the collapse of the US energy giant, has finally found a champion across the pond. Despite closing early on Broadway after failing to excite American critics and audiences as much as their British counterparts, none other than Hollywood megastar George Clooney is apparently planning to bring it to the big screen. According to the Observer, the Oscar winner has teamed up with Laura Ziskin, who holds the film rights, and commissioned Prebble to work on the adaptation. But it’s not all good news for those involved with the original production. Director Rupert Goold and his British cast have been sidelined by Clooney, who instead plans to direct, and possibly star, himself.
