All Saints Musical Productions are going to bare all later this month, as they are staging The Full Monty at the Lowry.
Based on the British film of the same name, this American take on the classic, follows six out-of-work steel workers who decide to bear all in an effort to make money and find some meaning in their lives.
We follow the men from their first thoughts of stripping off, as well as their first doubts, to the climax where the thongs will fly! As well as the comedy and hilarious script, the show explores friendship and the lack of self-confidence and esteem caused through unemployment.
The book is by Terence MacNally, based on the British film of the same name with music and lyrics by David Yazbek.
The original Broadway production opened on 26 March 2000 and was later staged in the West End in 2002 and on tour. It has since returned to London at the New Players Theatre last December.
All Saints’ amateur production of The Full Monty runs at the Lowry from 20 – 24 April.
