Director David Farr’s 2007 collaboration with Filter Theatre Company, Water, is being revived at the Tricycle Theatre in February following a run at the Salisbury Playhouse.

The multi-media production, first staged at the Lyric Hammersmith (when Farr was artistic director), is billed as “a visually extraordinary theatrical experience”, exploring man’s desire to push himself to the limits in an increasingly unstable world of climate change.

It runs at Salisbury Playhouse from 20 to 29 January 2011, opening at
the Tricycle on 3 February (previews from 1 February), where it
continues to 5 March.

The story centres on the crumbling relationship between Claudia, an ambitious highflier in governmental office, and Phil, a cave diver. Meanwhile, in Vancouver, an unworldly Norfolk environmentalist meets his Canadian half-brother and learns unexpected truths about their marine biologist father and the sacrifices he made for academic security.

Water features video by Radiohead’s live performance designer Andi Watson, with music by Tim Phillips and design by Jon Bausor. The cast will feature: Oliver Dimsdale, Victoria Moseley, Tim Phillips and Ferdy Roberts.
