The Sunderland Empire have revealed that this year’s festive production will be Irving Berlin’s White Christmas as a break from the traditional pantomime.

Tom Chambers, winner of 2008’s Strictly Come Dancing and more recently BBC’s Waterloo Road alongside Adam Cooper from Mathew Bourne’s Swan Lake, Billy Elliott The Movie and a principal dancer at the Royal Ballet star in the North East’s premier of Irving Berlin’s White Christmas.

With an ensemble of over thirty and a 17 piece orchestra, this dazzling musical is full of tap dancing, laughter and some of the greatest songs ever written, Irving Berlin’s White Christmas promises to be a merry and bright theatrical experience for the whole family.

Brimming with classic Irving Berlin hits like “Blue Skies”, “How Deep is the Ocean”, “Happy Holiday, Sisters” and of course the unforgettable title song “White Christmas”, it tells the story of two buddies putting on a show in a magical Vermont inn, and finding their perfect mates in the process.

White Christmas is at the Sunderland Empire from 19 November to 17 December 2010.
