Australian Toy Symphony Plays in London???

Sydney Theatre Company isn’t the only Australian outfit providing programming inspiration to the Ambassador Theatre Group (See News, 15 Sep 2008). Howard Panter, joint chief executive and creative director of the Ambassador Theatre Group, told Whatsonstage.com that he’s in talks to bring Michael Gow’s new play Toy Symphony to London.

Gow’s first full-length play in ten years, the award-winning drama explores the creative process by follows a blocked writer’s battle against his demons. It received its world premiere, starring Richard Roxburgh, in November 2007 at Sydney’s Belvoir Street Theatre. Gow’s other plays include Away, Europe, All Stops Out and The Astronaut’s Wife.
