ATG strike co-producing deal with Tali Pelman

Ambassador Theatre Group (ATG), the UK’s biggest commercial theatre owners, will embark on a co-producing partnership with West End and Broadway producer Tali Pelman it has been announced.

The partnership with Pelman comes shortly after ATG launched co-producing agreements with Jerry Mitchell Productions and Theatre Royal Brighton Productions. The arrangement will see Pelman developing and producing show for presentation within ATG’s national portfolio to 39 venues, which includes 12 West End houses.

As producer at the Notting Hill’s Gate Theatre between 2003 and 2006, Pelman’s credits included The Emperor Jones, Hair, Woyzeck and Gone Missing.

Pelman also spent four years as an in-house with ATG. Her production credits in that time included The Mountaintop by Katori Hall which was staged both in the West End and on Broadway; Keira Knightley and Damian Lewis starring in The Misanthrope by Martin Crimp; Kris Marshall, Joanna Page and Robert Webb starring in Fat Pig written and directed by Neil LaBute; Felicity Kendal starring in The Last Cigarette by Simon Gray; Hugh Whitemore, John Hannah and Paul Hilton starring in Riflemind by Andrew Upton; and Richard Coyle, Gina McKee, Timothy West and Charlie Cox starring in The Lover/The Collection by Harold Pinter.

As an associate producer for ATG Pelman also staged Eugene Ionesco‘s Exit the King on Broadway starring Geoffrey Rush and Susan Sarandon.

Joint CEO and creative director of ATG Howard Panter, speaking in a press statement, said of the announcement: “I’m thrilled to be working with Tali again and we’ve already been discussing some terrific new projects that we’ll be announcing later in the year.

“Tali is a wonderfully gifted producer with a string of hit shows under her belt on both sides of the Atlantic, and her fresh approach will make for an exciting partnership with ATG.”

Pelman is currently a board member of High Tide Festival Theatre and Theatre 503. A graduate of Columbia University, she received her MBA from the London Business School.
