Stephen Fry was among the guests at Soho Theatre last night (9 August 2012, previews from 3 August) for the world premiere of George Stiles and Anthony Drewe’s new musical Soho Cinders.

Fry, who voices the show’s narrator, is currently in rehearsals at the Globe for Twelfth Night, in which he plays Malvolio opposite Mark Rylance as Olivia.

Edgy, fun and “deliciously naughty”, Soho Cinders celebrates the capital’s
most colourful district as politics, sex-scandals and true love come
together in this contemporary musical.

When impoverished student Robbie becomes romantically involved with
engaged mayoral candidate James Prince, his lap-dancing step-sisters
become the least of his problems! James and Robbie’s worlds collide,
forcing them to fight for their own fairy-tale ending.

Starring Michael Xavier, Jenna Russell and Amy Lennox among others, Soho Cinders runs at the Soho Theatre until 9 September.
