This new staging of The Invisible Man, which continues until 13 February 2011, includes comedy music hall performance with magic and illusions by Paul Kieve, whose previous stage credits include The Lord of the Rings and The Witches of Eastwick at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane.
The action is set in the rustic village of Iping, where the local inhabitants recount the mysterious happenings of the week that the sinister Griffin (John Gordon Sinclair) arrived wrapped in bandages and with a distinctly unsociable manner. Billed as a “comedy music hall spectacular, packed with magical entertainment”, the show received its world premiere at the Theatre Royal Stratford East in 1991.
