Following his acclaimed horrorfest Ghost Stories last year, Jeremy Dyson has returned to the Lyric Hammersmith with another series of weird and wonderful yarns – Roald Dahl’s Twisted Tales, based on the author’s renowned short stories for adults.

The production opened last night 24 January 2011 (previews from 14 January), attended by a smattering of big name actors and entertainers including Derren Brown, Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Mathew Horne, Nicholas Burns, Richard Bacon, David Dawson and Jemima Rooper.

And excitingly for Sherlock Holmes fans, our photographer Dan Wooller also spotted Stephen Fry and Mark Gatiss, who have both played the famous detective’s older brother Mycroft on screen (Gatiss in the BBC’s Sherlock and Fry in the forthcoming Guy Richie sequel).

The cast features: Nick Fletcher (The White Guard, NT); Selina Griffiths (After Life, NT, BBC’s Cranford); Alexandra Maher (Our Country’s Good, Watermill); George Rainsford (Days of Significance, RSC); Trevor White (Red Bud, Royal Court) and in the role of the young boy Jonathan Danciger (Billy Elliot The Musical) and Larry McCartney (Thyestes, Arcola).
