Amidst a flurry of bright lipstick, nail polish and feather bowers, Priscilla Queen of the Desert the Musical held a special gala night last night (24 March 2009, previews from 10 March) to celebrate its UK premiere at the Palace Theatre (See Also Today’s WOS TV).

Drag queens Kandi Kane and Heidi Licious proved enthusiastic hosts on the red carpet, welcoming an array of special guests including John Barrowman (pictured), Elaine Paige, Lee Mead, Richard Curtis , and former Neighbours star Anne Charleston.

Priscilla, adapted from the 1994 Oscar-winning Australian film, stars Jason Donovan, Oliver Thornton and Tony Sheldon as two drag queens and a transsexual who set off on a journey of discovery to Alice Springs on their eponymous pink bus.
