Ransack Theatre are bringing Write Night to the Lass O’Gowrie in Manchester.

Since the company’s inception in 2012, Ransack Theatre has been dedicated to producing new writing with new actors and new minds. Write Night is a collection of three captivating short plays from some of the most exciting emerging playwrights in Manchester.

Tickets are £3, which works out at a pound a play.

The Plays:

Boot Sale is set in the marketplace of junk: the car boot sale. Most people are desperately trying to make some quick cash out of their spare baggage, but Mike is content to set up stall and neglect sales every fortnight just to be a little closer with his Dad.

Box – Gareth sits at home with a cardboard box and a past to be unpacked, but Shell makes sure he doesn’t have to do it alone. A play about strength, weakness, charity and welfare.

Enveloped in Velvet examines a sweeping apathy that has crept into modern day society. Four separate, but inadvertently connected monologues address the brutality of mundane existence, striving for raw sensation, beer, neglect and teeth.

Write Night is at the Lass O’Gowrie from 3 – 5 December.
