Northern Ballet bring early Christmas Carol to Palace, 19 Nov

One seasonal ballet has been captivating crowds for more than two decades – and this year it promises to be as magical as ever.
Christmas will come early in Manchester this year as Northern Ballet perform a Charles Dickens classic.
Northern Ballet's beautiful portrayal of Charles Dickens' classic tale A Christmas Carol will be coming to Manchester's Palace Theatre in November.
Originally directed by former artistic director Christopher Gable and choreographed by Massimo Moricone, this production combines traditional ballet and theatre to tell the story of Ebenezer Scrooge and his encounter with three terrifying ghosts.
Olivier Award-winning Lez Brotherston has designed the costumes and sets, while Carl Davis has prepared the festive score – which will be performed by the Northern Ballet Sinfonia and sung by the dancers.
Northern Ballet's artistic director David Nixon said: "Restaging what has become a signature piece from the era of Christopher Gable demonstrates Northern Ballet's commitment to preserving our heritage by performing key works from our repertoire. It is a great festive production that appeals to the whole family."
A Christmas Carol will be performed between 19-23 November.
