Wilton's Music Hall announces 2018 spring season

Wilton's, Europe's oldest surviving grand music hall, has today announced its spring season for 2018, featuring a range of productions staged by companies from across the country.

The year kicks off with a run of Kneehigh's production of The Flying Lovers of Vitebsk, directed by Emma Rice after a sell-out run at the Sam Wanamaker Playhouse last year. Inspired by Jewish folk tradition, the show tells the story of two lovers in the midst of the Pogroms and Russian Revolution. The show runs from 17 January to 10 February.

Following this, the venue will welcome the award-winning Mark Bruce Company, who will present a dance-driven reinterpretation of Shakespeare's Macbeth. The show will have a cast of nine, led by Jonathan Goddard and Eleanor Duval; Goddard previously starred in the company's production of Dracula. The show runs from 23 February to 17 March.

From 21 March to 7 April, Joanna Murray-Smith's Songs for Nobodies will have its European and UK premiere at Wilton's. Bringing together the stories of five iconic women, Judy Garland, Patsy Cline, Billie Holiday, Edith Piaf and Maria Callas, the piece is performed by Bernadette Robinson and directed by Simon Philips.

The venue will also host a series of one-off and short runs across the season, including Carradine’s Cockney Sing-a-long, a night of traditional ditties from across the decades on 13 February. On 14 and 15 February, the venue will present evenings of music and storytelling in the form of OneTrackMinds, billed as a blend of Ted Talks and Desert Island Discs.

Morgan and West, Wilton's associates, will bring their new magic show to the venue for a three night run from 4 to 6 April. Entitled Morgan and West – More Magic for Kids, the pair come fresh from appearing on ITV1's The Next Great Magician.
