Trevor Nunn will direct Oliver Cotton's new play, Dessert at Southwark Playhouse in July.

Following his success with Daytona, which opened at the Park Theatre in 2014 starring Maureen Lipman before transferring to the West End, Cotton's new play is about a British financier who hosts a dinner party for his affluent American friends.

Cotton's other writing credits include Wet Weather Cover (King’s Head & Arts Theatre, London), The Incredible Journey of Sir Francis Younghusband, The Enoch Show (Royal Court) and Man Falling Down (Shakespeare’s Globe). His acting career includes forty productions at the National Theatre and numerous others at the Royal Court and RSC.

Former RSC artistic director Nunn continues a busy year after directing productions of Love in Idleness and Lettice and Lovage at the Menier Chocolate Factory.

Casting will be announced shortly

Dessert runs at Southwark Playhouse from 18 July to 5 August, with previews from 12 July.
