Theatre503 has announced its new season, with two world premieres and a UK premiere.

Alison Carr, a finalist of the Theatre503 Playwriting Award has her new play Caterpillar staged and directed by Yasmeen Joseph. The show is set in a B&B closed for business on the busiest weekend of the year in a seaside town. It runs between 29 August and 22 September.

The second world premiere of the season is Dipika Guha's The Art of Gaman (3 to 27 October), one of six plays shortlisted for the American Playwriting Foundation's Relentless Award. The piece is directed by Ailin Conant and follows Tomomi, a young Japanese woman looking forward to a new American life in the wake of the Hiroshima bombing.

In January, Cuzco by Victor Sanchez Rodriguez will be directed by Kate O'Connor. The piece follows a Spanish couple who travel to a conquistador stronghold to try to save their relationship.

In the theatre's shorts series, where new writers are showcased there are plays by writers including Gemma McGrath, Richard Chilvers and from company Lightbox Productions.
