The Yard Theatre announces winter season

The Yard today announced its new season of work, taking the venue through into 2018. The season will be once again overseen by founder and artistic director Jay Miller.
October sees a London arrival for Fierce Festival in the form of Fierce vs. The Yard, a two week double bill composed of GETINTHEBACKOFTHEVAN's Frankenshow and Erin Markey's Boner Killer, billed as a surreal blend between comedy and cabaret. The fortnight of Fierce begins on 3 October.
The season also sees an unprecedented return of This Beautiful Future, which had a sell-out run earlier this year. Directed by Miller, the show's wartime setting was a hit with audiences, and our reviewer Matt Trueman labelled the show "superb and surprising".
December sees the third installment of The Yard's First Drafts festival for new writing. With the venue inviting artists to submit all manner of ideas, the season will see a broad swath of original work hosted across the fortnight.
The theatre kicks off 2018 with NOW 18, a five week festival of ten new performances commissioned and promoted by The Yard. The line-up includes Rosana Cade & Eilidh Macaskill, Stacy Makishi, Emma
Frankland and Katy Baird.
The season also comes alongside news that the venue will receive Arts Council funding from April 2018 through to 2022.
