The West End cast of The Worst Witch has been announced.

The show, which initially toured the UK following its premiere at Northampton's Royal and Derngate, will open at the Vaudeville Theatre in London on 24 July, where it runs until 8 September.

The cast is composed of Rosie Abraham (Peter Pan Goes Wrong) as Ethel, Danielle Bird (Alice's Adventures Underground) as Mildred, Molly-Grace Cutler (We'll Live and Die in These Towns) as Miss Bat, Meg Forgan (We'll Live and Die in These Towns) as Fenella, Rachel Heaton (The Odd Couple) as Miss Hardbroom, Rebecca Killick (Pink Mist) as Maud, Emma Lau (Table) as Drusilla, Megan Leigh Mason (Sunny Afternoon) as Miss Drill, Polly Lister (Table) as Agatha/Miss Cackle, Consuela Rolle (Remember, Remember) as Enid and Lauryn Redding (Educating Rita) as Griselda.

The piece follows the accident-prone Mildred Hubble, who lives in a school for witches and leaves a trail of mayhem in her wake.

Directed by Theresa Heskins (The Snow Queen), the show is based on Jill Murphy's classic series of books and is adapted for the stage by Emma Reeves. It is designed by Simon Daw (Humble Boy), music by Luke Potter (Hetty Feather) with aerial consultancy by Vicki Amedume.

Beverley Norris-Edmunds choreographs, illusions are by John Bulleid, lighting design is by Aideen Malone and sound design is by Leigh Davies, puppetry direction and design is by Paschale Straiton and casting is by Anjo Carroll.
