Cast joining Aidan Turner in The Lieutenant of Inishmore announced

Martin McDonagh's play is revived in the West End

The full, all-Irish cast of The Lieutenant of Inishmore has been announced.

Joining the previously announced Aidan Turner in the production will be Charlie Murphy (Peaky Blinders), Denis Conway (Wallenstein), Will Irvine (Lady Chatterley's Lover), Brian Martin (Boudica), Daryl McCormack (Othello), Julian Moore-Cook (Mother Courage and Her Children), and Chris Walley (Young Offenders).

Originally performed by the RSC in 2001, McDonagh's black comedy is set in Ireland in the early 1990s. It satires terrorism and nationalism in the modern day. The playwright's other credits include The Pillowman, Hangmen and his new play A Very Very Very Dark Matter will debut at the Bridge Theatre next year.

The show will be directed by Michael Grandage as part of his season in the West End. The show will be accompanied by John Logan's Red, which will open in May. It will star Alfreds Enoch and Molina.

The Lieutenant of Inishmore runs at the Noël Coward Theatre from 4 July until 8 September with previews from 23 June.
