Shakespeare's The Comedy of Errors returns to Gray's Inn Hall

The Shakespearean play The Comedy of Errors is set to return to where it was first performed in 1594; Gray's Inn Hall.

Theatre company Antic Disposition will bring a new production of the play to its original venue as part of Shakespeare400 celebrations.

One of Shakespeare's earliest plays, the show will combine farce with live music and songs performed by a cast of actor musicians.

Located near Holborn and Chancery Lane, Gray's Inn Hall is one of the few remaining original Shakespearean venues and frequently hosted revels and entertainments in Elizabethan times, including the first recorded performance of The Comedy of Errors.

Directed by Ben Horslen and John Risebero, who also designs, the produciton will feature musical direction by Nick Barstow and lighting design by Elizabeth Gunby.

Casting is yet be announced.

The Comedy of Errors runs at Gray's Inn Hall from 20 August to 1 September 2016.
