Josie Rourke's revival of Saint Joan, which opens at the Donmar Warehouse in December, will be screened live in cinemas next year.

Gemma Arteton (Nell Gwynn) plays French hero Joan of Arc in the play based on records of her life. George Bernard Shaw's play follows the life and trial of the saint, and was first published in 1924, four years after the Roman Catholic canonisation of Joan of Arc.

In partnership with National Theatre Live, the play will be shown live in cinemas on Thursday 16 February.

Casting also includes Matt Bardock as Robert De Baudricourt and D’Estivet, Richard Cant as De Stogumber, Hadley Fraser as Dunois and Elliot Levey as Cauchon.

Rourke's previous directional credits at the theatre include Les Liaisons Dangereueses and Coriolanus which starred Tom Hiddleston.

Saint Joan runs at Donmar Warehouse from 9 December.
