Rosalie Craig in The Ferryman: first look images

Jez Butterworth’s award-winning play will run in the West End until May

Photos have been released showing Rosalie Craig and the new cast of The Ferryman onstage at the Gielgud Theatre.

Jez Butterworth's play, which was nominated for Best Play at the WhatsOnStage Awards and won Best New Play at the Evening Standard Awards, will now run through until May of this year. It is directed by Sam Mendes, and tells the story of a fractious Irish family on the eve of the harvest. The show opened to critical acclaim at the Royal Court last year, before transferring to the West End.

In our five star review of the piece critic Sarah Crompton described it as "a triumphant, bold piece of theatre, an old-fashioned play full of life and heart and passion."

New cast members also include Owen McDonnell (Single-Handed, Paula) as Quinn Carney and Justin Edwards (The Thick of It) as Tom Kettle.

Following her run in The Ferryman, Craig will return to the same theatre for the new revival of the first female-led production of Stephen Sondheim's Company. Craig will star as Bobbi alongside Patti LuPone in the production, which opens in September.

The Ferryman runs at the Gielgud Theatre until 19 May.
