With pigs very much in the headlines currently, the producers of the UK premiere of Pig Farm at the St James Theatre have announced casting.

The play, which runs from 28 October to 21 November (previews from 21 October) is written by Greg Kotis, best known for Urinetown the Musical.

Billed as a "dark farce", the 2006 comedy centres on Tom and Tina who, with just the help of hired hand Tim, are struggling for survival on their remote pig farm.

The cast will feature: Dan Fredenburgh (Tom), Erik Odom (Tim), Charlotte Parry (Tina) and Stephen Tompkinson (Teddy).

Tompkinson, best known for screen roles credits including DCI Banks and Wild at Heart, has previously appeared on the London stage in shows including Spamalot, Cloaca and Art.

Pig farm is being directed by Katharine Farmer, with design by Carla Goodman, lighting by Jason Taylor, sound by John Leonard, fights by Malcolm Ranson and casting by Kate Plantin.

It's produced by Dead Posh Productions and co-produced by Julian Stoneman Associates Ltd.
