We popped into rehearsals for Our Ladies of Perpetual Succour, which opens in the West End next month following its initial showing at Edinburgh Fringe, a worldwide tour and a run at the National Theatre last year.

The play, Lee Hall's adaptation of Alan Warner's 1998 novel The Sopranos, opens at the Duke of York's Theatre on 9 May. It tells of a group of Catholic schoolgirls who spend a night on the town in Edinburgh rather than compete in a choir competition, and features songs by ELO.

Last month it won the Olivier Award for Best New Comedy.

Our Ladies of Perpetual Succour opens at the Duke of York's Theatre on 15 May, with previews from 9 May.
