It's been reported that American singer Nick Jonas is writing a musical to bring to the West End.

Jonas, one third of the chart-topping Jonas Brothers, made his West End debut in 2010 in Les Miserables as Marius Pontmercy.

Speaking to the Evening Standard, he said: "I have a musical theatre background and I loved having the chance to appear in Les Mis. I made a lot of friends in London who I'm still in touch with.

"I'm very hopeful I will be able to come back to the West End – this time with something I wrote. It's my own show that I've been thinking about for years."

The project will be a screen-to-stage musical, following the likes of Bend it Like Beckham, Made in Dagenham and Kinky Boots.

"I'm working on getting the rights to a film to turn it into a musical, but I can't say what it is yet because we're still negotiating," Jonas added.
