Miriam Margolyes to star in Park Theatre's new season

Miriam Margolyes is to star in the upcoming season at the Park Theatre.

The Blackadder and Harry Potter actress will star in new comedy by John Misto called Madame Rubinstein which will be directed by the Park Theatre's artistic director Jez Bond. The play looks at the life of business woman Helena Rubinstein, who founded a successful cosmetics company at the turn of the century in America. The show runs from April 26 to 27 May.

Elsewhere in the season, there will be a revival of Rent composer Jonathan Larson's musical Tick, Tick…Boom! running between 3 and 27 May. The show is set in 1990 and follows an aspiring composer, whose girlfriend wants to get married, but who wants to write the great American musical.

Opening in January will be Raising Martha, a new comedy by David Spicer, with a cast that includes Jasper Britton, Morgana Robinson, Joel Fry and Tom Bennett. The show follows the fortunes of a family living in rural England who are trying to find the exact whereabouts of their long-dead mother. The show runs between 11 January to 11 February.

Also in the line up is a production of A Dark Night in Dalston (7 March to 1 April), a two-hander written by Stewart Permutt, which stars EastEnders actress Michelle Collins. Collins plays Gina, who insists on protecting a young Jewish man in her flat after he is attacked on her council estate in Dalston.

Theatre company Action to the Word bring their all-male production of A Clockwork Orange to the Park between 14 February and 18 March, while David Henry Hwang returns to the Park Theatre following Yellow Face, with the European premiere of Chinglish. Hwang's play is about an American business man who wants to open in China.

In May, Cahoots theatre company stage Twitstorm, between 31 May and 1 July, which looks at TV panel show host Guy Manton, who inadvertently causes a furore on Twitter.

Park 90 also hosts the London premiere of The Albatross in January, while the world premiere of Killing Time takes place between 7 February and 4 March. Finders Keepers, inspired by the biblical story of baby Moses, runs between 4 and 29 April, while Marius von Mayenburg's The Ugly One runs between 1 and 24 June.
