The cast has been announced for Jeremy Herrin's revival of Michael Frayn's award-winning Noises Off, which runs at Lyric Hammersmith.

Meera Syal (The Kumars at No 42) will play Dotty Otley, alongside Lloyd Owen (Cleaning Up) as Lloyd Dallas, Daniel Rigby (One Man, Two Guvnors) as Garry Lejeune, Lois Chimimba (Three Sisters) as Poppy Norton-Taylor, Jonathan Cullen (Merry Wives of Windsor) as Freddie Fellows, Debra Gillett (Madness of King George III) as Belinda Blair, Amy Morgan (Travesties) as Brooke Ashton, Enyi Okoronkwo (The Cherry Orchard) as Tim Allgood and Simon Rouse (Hangmen) as Selsdon Mowbray.

The backstage comedy, which was hailed as one of the funniest plays ever, follows what happens during the creation and production of a sex farce called Nothing On. The original production first opened at the Lyric Hammersmith in 1982 and was directed by Michael Blakemore, going on to transfer to the West End where it ran to 1987. The original cast included Patricia Routledge, Paul Eddington and Nicky Henson.

The revival sees the piece return to the venue nearly forty years after it first premiered, and will have design by Max Jones, lighting by Amy Mae Smith and sound by Lorna Munden.

Noises Off runs from 27 June to 27 July.
