WhatsOnStage has a first look at the cinema recording of Matthew Bourne's Swan Lake ahead of the production's screening in May.

The revival of Tchaikovsky's ballet has been touring across the UK since September 2018. The cinema screening stars Will Bozier as The Swan, Liam Mower as The Prince, Nicole Kabera as The Queen, Katrina Lyndon as The Girlfriend and Glenn Graham as The Private Secretary.

Bourne's Swan Lake is famous for replacing the female ensemble with male dancers as the swans. Since it was first staged at Sadler's Wells in 1995, the piece has won over 30 international awards including three Tonys and an Olivier Award. The choreographer also recently won a special Olivier Award for his contributions to dance.

Swan Lake has direction and choreography by Bourne, set and costumes by Lez Brotherston, lighting by Paule Constable and sound design by Ken Hampton. It continues to tour until 21 July 2019.

You can find your nearest cinema for the Swan Lake screening here, with showings starting from 21 May.
