Casting has been announced for the upcoming revival of Lionel Bart and Alun Owen's hit musical Maggie May, which comes to the Finborough Theatre in west London in March.

Maggie May will be played by Kara Lily Hayworth (Cilla the Musical, National Tour), with James Darch (Wicked, Apollo Victoria) as Patrick Casey, and Natalie Williams (Charlie and The Chocolate Factory, Theatre Royal Drury Lane) playing Maureen O'Neill.

The cast also includes Mark Pearce (Twelfth Night), Leon Kay (High Society), Michael Nelson (Mamma Mia!), Barnaby Taylor (The Tempest), Aaron Kavanagh (Some Lovers), Chloe Carrington (Jersey Boys), Euan Bennet (Sunshine On Leith), Cathy McManamon (Me and My Girl), Joshua Barton (The Commitments) and David Keller (Hamlet).

The revival is the first time the show has been seen since its original 1964 run at the Adelphi Theatre. Bart and Owen's piece will be directed by Matthew Iliffe, with set and costume design by Verity Johnson, choreography supervision by Sam Spencer-Lane, musical direction by Henry Brennan, lighting design by Jonathan Simpson, sound design by Philip Matejtschuk, assistant direction by Sophie Drake and casting by Debbie O'Brien.

The piece tells the story of streetwalker Maggie May and her sweetheart Patrick Casey, against the backdrop of the economic decline of Liverpool's docks.

The musical runs from 27 March to 20 April.
