The BBC has announced additional shows will be broadcast as part of its “Sunday Night Performance” programme.

The RSC and Birmingham Rep staging of Tartuffe will be presented, as announced last autumn.

Also in the pipeline is the Almeida’s staging of The Tragedy of Macbeth, led by James McArdle and Saoirse Ronan. Nominated for a series of WhatsOnStage Awards, supporting performer Akiya Henry won for her supporting performance as Lady Macduff.

The show received a full five star review from WhatsOnStage, and was streamed five times during its late 2021 run.

The news was revealed by the BBC during Sunday morning advertising. Broadcast dates for the productions are to be confirmed, though the shows will also be available on BBC iPlayer afterwards.
